Mother-of-pearl has long been prized in fine watchmaking for its iridescent depth and ever-changing play of light, and in this latest release, Czapek & Cie elevates the material through an exceptionally rare decorative technique. Created in collaboration with GT Cadrans near Lausanne, the Czapek Antarctique S Ice Cloud features a nacre brouillée dial, or scattered mother-of-pearl, a highly specialized craft seldom seen in contemporary luxury watches. Each dial begins as polished white nacre, thinned to just 0.2 mm, before being hand-varnished on the underside to produce organic, cloud-like formations. For the Ice Cloud interpretation, a cool blue tint enhances the sense of an icy horizon, delivering a refined yet sporty aesthetic. Every dial is unique, shaped by hand and permanently set through a precise firing process, making each timepiece a singular expression of artisanal craftsmanship.
